Who is the best home security company and why?

My neighbors house was robbed and now we want to get a home security system from a company like ADT, GE Protect America, Brinks, or Guardian. Has anyone used any of these companies and have an opinion about them. Obviously we’d like to get the best system for the best price. Who has that? So far I am leaning towards GE Protect America. How much for a good home security system?

What do I need for a basic home security system.
I don’t want anything elaborate as I live in a "safe" area.
I want something like a remote operated button that my elderly mom can push in an event someone breaks in. A loud alarm that will go off both inside and outside to "scare" any robbers and alert her neighbors.
